founded in 2003 by Elon Musk, JB Straubel, Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning, is an American company specialising in electric cars and battery technology.

Its initial purpose was to develop and manufacture high-performance electric vehicles with advanced technology, as well as offering energy storage solutions for homes and businesses.

In 2008, the company introduced its first vehicle to the market, the Roadster, based on the Lotus Elise and powered by a high-performance electric motor. The success of the Roadster solidified Tesla's position as a leader in the production of electric cars.

The fastest Tesla

The Model S Plaid, currently the brand's fastest car, is a high-performance version of the Model S, announced in 2019 and launched in 2021.

Equipped with three electric motors that provide a combined power of 1020 hp and a torque of 1450 Nm, this vehicle is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 2 seconds, making it one of the fastest production cars globally. It also boasts a top speed of 325 km/h.
